Middleham Park Racing’s remarkable three-year-old BRAVE EMPEROR is set for a summer campaign in Europe after supplementing last winter’s Listed win in France with Group success in Germany.
The son of Sioux Nation made it six wins from just nine starts in the Group 3 Grosser Preis der Wohnstatte Krefeld – Dr Busch Memorial on Friday 28th April.
Sent off the 7-5 favourite, he made every yard of the running in the extended mile feature under regular rider Luke Morris to claim almost £30,000 for his delighted syndicate.
His trainer Archie says: “He was very impressive in Group company back on turf for the first time this year. Luke gave him a great ride and I’m delighted for all his owners at Middleham Park.
“We’ll continue to campaign him in the right races in Europe this season. He’s so consistent and has continued to progress from run to run so I hope he can have a great summer.”
Middleham Park’s Tom Palin adds: “Brave Emperor continues on the up and is an exciting horse to have. Six of his owners made the journey and were celebrating with champagne almost as soon as he crossed the line. I will sit down with Archie now and we’ll decide which races to target.”
The talented gelding took his form to a higher level when winning the Listed Prix de la Californie at Cagnes-Sur-Mer in February before scoring another notable success back on the All-Weather in England.
He landed the ‘Road to the Kentucky Derby’ Conditions Stakes over 1m at Kempton Park in March, this time scooping over £30,000 for his syndicate en route to his Group 3 triumph in Germany.
Brave Emperor was bought for just £19,000 at the Goffs UK Premier and Silver sales as a yearling and has so fare won over £136,000 in prize money.
