ROMAN MIST’S success at Group level in Germany on 23rd September was a further boost to Archie’s impressive international record.
Her win means the master of Saxon Gate has now sent out big winners at Krefeld and Dresden in Germany, Bro Park in Sweden, Doha in Qatar, The Curragh and Naas in Ireland and Cagnes-Sur-Mer, Chantilly and Deauville in France.

Brave Emperor went close to giving the Saxon Gate team further overseas glory when he finished a gallant second in the Group 2 90th Brunner – Oettingen Rennen at Baden-Baden on 3rd September. He kept on gamely under regular rider Luke Morris in the mile feature.
There was a silver medal, too, for the globe-trotting Outbox who was second for the third successive year in the valuable Stockholm Cup at Bro Park in Sweden. With stable jockey Hollie Doyle in the saddle, he made a bold bid for glory only to be headed inside the final furlong.
Now Archie is hoping to add to his impressive roster of international success after announcing that star sprinter Bradsell will take his chance in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Santa Anita following his run in the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes at The Curragh.
On the home front, Hambleton Racing’s improving three-year-old Chriszoff made it four from six by taking the traditional Simon Scrope Dalby Screw-Driver Handicap at Pontefract at the end of the month. He dug deep for Rossa Ryan to hold off seasoned performer Baryshnikov in the 10-furlong contest, posting a career-best off a mark of 92.
There was success at the double for Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum when Regheeb and Korroor both got their heads in front. The former took a 10-furlong Lingfield novice for Luke Morris on 16th September, just three days before Korroor got off the mark in a seven-furlong Newcastle nursery.
Regheeb, who won on debut at Nottingham in the spring, was making his first start since finishing unplaced in Listed company in France in May while Hollie gave Korroor a strong ride to claim the verdict by a head on the Gosforth Park Tapeta.
The All-Weather also suits Lone Star Investments’ He’s A Monster who extended his unbeaten record on synthetics to four by winning a seven-furlong Chelmsford City handicap two days later. Hollie made every yard of the running on the prolific son of No Nay Never who was scoring for the second time at the Essex venue.
Earlier in the month Love Lies defied a penalty for her Ayr win when following up in a Newcastle novice over six furlongs for Danny Tudhope after Ontoawinner’s Tasleet filly Abbey’s Dream scored for the third time this year in a seven-furlong fillies’ handicap at Wolverhampton.
Our amateur star Brodie Hampson maintained her winning run with new recruit Silver Atom, who took a Bath handicap to supplement Regheeb’s win on the same day. It was Silver Atom’s breakthrough success after joining Archie from jumps trainer Ben Pauling.
At Haydock Park on 30th September, our two-year-old filly Shardam ended the month in style by winning a same sex novice over a mile. Jason Hart made all the running on the daughter of Too Darn Hot, who was returning from a four-month break after leaving previous trainer Jessie Harrington.
